Shira Tarrant

Shira Tarrant received her PhD in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a professor of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at California State University, Long Beach, where she teaches courses on the philosophy of sex and love, masculinity, pop culture, and feminist theory. Her books highlight provocative issues in gender and sexual politics, including Men Speak Out; Men and Feminism; Gender, Sex, and Politics; Fashion Talks: Undressing the Power of Style; and New Views on Pornography. Shira’s most recent book is The Pornography Industry: What Everyone Needs to Know (Oxford University Press).
