Catherine Vidal

Catherine Vidal is a neurobiologist and honorary research director at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. She is a member of Ethics Committee of French Institute for Health (INSERM), in charge of the “Gender and Health” group and of the board of “UN Women French partnership”. Internationally, she is co-founder of the International Network Neuro-Genderings. She participates as a scientist in the US / EU project Gendered Innovation in Health & Medicine Science and Engineering.
Besides her fundamental research, Catherine Vidal is involved in popularizing science, in particular neuroscientific findings on sex/gender and their societal implications. She is the author of a large number of articles and books for the general public, including : “The sexed brain: between science and ideology”, Neuroethics, vol5, 2012 (Springer) and “Cerveau, sexe et pouvoir” [Brain, gender and power] (Belin, 2015)
